A Magical Evening Among Tikokino Peonies: Sunset Photography in Central Hawke's Bay
There’s something truly magical about photographing at Tikokino Peonies, especially on a warm November evening as the sun dips below the horizon. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing two gorgeous cousins exploring the vibrant gardens, their laughter echoing through the rows of soft pinks, whites, and deep reds. With over 80 varieties of peonies spread across 3.5 acres, every corner of the farm offers a stunning backdrop, from lush blooms to the beautifully landscaped grounds. This family-run gem, nestled just 50 km south of Hastings, is a haven for flower lovers and photographers alike. The golden light filtering through the petals created the perfect atmosphere for their heartfelt connection to shine. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do—turning fleeting beauty into lasting memories.
