Maternity Session – Porangahau Beach, Central Hawke’s Bay at Sunset

Saskia and Stuart’s story included two really special sessions close together — starting with a relaxed maternity shoot at sunset on Porangahau Beach in Central Hawke’s Bay. With their baby girl due in January, they wanted to capture this season in a simple, natural way before life changes again. Both working in agriculture, they brought a laid-back, outdoorsy vibe to the evening, with plenty of time to walk along the beach, enjoy the golden light, and make the most of a calm Central Hawke’s Bay sunset, with their gorgeous dogs in tow!

Wedding Elopement – Where the Waipawa River Meets the Tukituki River, near OngaOnga

A month later, Saskia and Stuart chose a meaningful spot close to home for their small wedding elopement — by the river near the OngaOnga township, right where the rivers meet: the Waipawa River and the Tukituki River. It was stunning, simple, and intimate, with the focus on their vows and a beautiful ceremony in a place that feels like “them.” Finishing up with a few relaxed portraits along the riverbank made the perfect end to a day that was so special, personal, and full of love and excitement for what’s next. I’ll be honest — I had a little cry during the ceremony - It was just so special!!!

I still can’t believe how lucky I was to help Saskia and Stuart document such beautiful, treasured memories for them to share with their nearest and dearest back home!
