Zoe & Ethan’s Pukehou Christ Church Wedding
Introducing Mr & Mrs Burke! Zoe and Ethan got married at the beautiful Pukehou Christ Church in Hawke’s Bay, before celebrating with their favourite people at No5 Cafe & Larder.
These two started dating in high school, and their first date was at McDonald’s, with Zoe heading off to a work meeting halfway through! Three and a half years later (and one very romantic beach proposal), they were standing at the front of the church together, and the whole day was full of that sweet, genuine young love.
A Church Ceremony Full of Colour
Their ceremony at Pukehou Christ Church was so special. Guests were encouraged to wear bright autumn colours, which looked incredible against the old timber church and made for the most amazing photos. Zoe and Ethan even did their own flowers, which added such a lovely personal touch.
Portraits and Celebrating at No5 Cafe & Larder
After the ceremony, we snuck away for some relaxed portraits, focusing on the real moments between them: the laughs, the sneaky kisses and the quiet moments at the Pekapeka Park. Then it was on to No5 Cafe & Larder to celebrate with family and friends. Days like this are exactly why I love wedding photography. It’s all about the people, the feeling and the little moments you’ll want to remember.
Engagement Shoot Before the Wedding
Before the wedding, we did a sunrise engagement shoot together at Kairakau Beach, which was a great chance for them to get comfortable in front of the camera and get used to how I work. By the time the big day arrived, it felt much more like hanging out together than having photos taken.
