You’ll never regret having these moments captured, and I’d love to help you preserve some of those memories for your family.

Family photography should feel like time well spent. Every session is relaxed, unhurried and shaped around your family. Whether your kids are climbing trees, running wild or clinging to your leg, that’s exactly what we’re here to capture.
I keep sessions natural and low-pressure. There’s no need for matching outfits, perfect manners or a toddler who sits still on command. We’ll work with whatever your family brings on the day, with plenty of room for movement, play and little breaks when needed.
Alongside the candid, in-between moments, we’ll still make time for the classic family photographs you’ll want to print, frame and keep.
Who This Is For
These sessions are perfect for immediate families, and you’re very welcome to include grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins too.
For larger or extended-family groups, I recommend choosing one of the larger image collections so you have plenty of photographs to capture all the different family groupings and combinations.
Session Locations & Length
Your session can take place at your own home or property, at an agreed outdoor location, or at the Studio at Backpaddock Lakes.
Sessions run for around 45–60 minutes, regardless of which collection you choose, so there’s plenty of time to settle in, relax and enjoy the experience!

You don’t need to decide how many images you’d like before your session.
Your booking begins with the 15 Image Collection. Once you’ve viewed your proof gallery, you can keep your included 15 images, add individual images for $20 each, or upgrade to a larger collection for better value.
*Complimentary prints and included framed artwork must be selected within two weeks of receiving your final gallery.

Ready to take the next step? Once you’re ready to book, I’ll send through your booking link via email, contract, questionnaire and quote.
Your session is confirmed once your contract is signed, questionnaire is complete and the $200 retainer is paid.
LET’S START PLANNING
I’ll send you a full preparation guide once you’ve booked, with tips on what to wear, how to prepare the kids and what to expect on the day.
We’ll also confirm your session location and any details I need to know about your family beforehand.
A few quick tips: choose soft, coordinating colours rather than exact matches, and don’t worry about everything being “perfect” — relaxed always photographs better than stiff.
ENJOY YOUR SESSION
On the day, there’s no pressure to perform or have perfectly behaved children.
We’ll keep things relaxed, let the kids move, play and be themselves, and still make time for the classic family photographs you’ll want to keep.
VIEW YOUR PROOF GALLERY
Around 2–3 weeks after your session, you’ll receive your private proof gallery.
You’ll then have 1 week to browse your images, choose your favourites and decide which collection feels right for you. This Gallery will expire within 1 week.
There’s no need to choose your final collection before your session.
If you love more images than expected, you can purchase additional images for $20 each or upgrade to a larger collection for better value.
RECEIVE YOUR FINAL IMAGES
Once you’ve made your selections and paid the remaining balance, I’ll fully edit your chosen photographs.
Your final gallery will be delivered online, ready to download and enjoy within 3-4 weeks from once selections are confirmed.
Your final gallery of selected images stays live for one year, you can download and back up your images.
*Complimentary prints and included framed artwork must be selected within two weeks of receiving your final gallery.
YOUR PRINTS ARRIVE!
Your included professional prints and any framed artwork you’ve chosen will be prepared and delivered after your final image selection.
Then you get to enjoy seeing your family photographs somewhere other than on a screen.

HOW DO I BOOK?

What if my kids won't sit still or smile on cue?
They don't need to. Family sessions are relaxed and child-led, with plenty of movement and play — some of the best photos happen in between the posed ones.
I’M WORRIED WE’LL FEEL AWKWARD IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA — WILL YOU HELP US?
Absolutely. You don’t need to know how to pose, where to stand or what to do with your hands.
I’ll give you plenty of gentle direction throughout the session, while keeping everything relaxed and natural so it never feels stiff or overly posed.
All you need to do is enjoy the time with your family — I’ll take care of the rest.
What happens if it rains?
I can usually transfer your retainer to a new date at no extra cost with 48–72 hours’ notice. Cancellations within 48 hours of your session will generally forfeit the retainer.
If we’re shooting outdoors and the weather turns, don’t worry — we can reschedule for genuine bad weather at no extra cost. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, rain photos can be so much fun! I even have a few clear umbrellas we can bring along.
How do I know which collection to choose?
You don't need to decide before your session. Once you've seen your full proof gallery, you'll be able to choose the collection that feels right for your family — and if you'd like a few extra images beyond your collection, you can add them for $20 each, or upgrade to the next collection for better value.
How much is the deposit?
The retainer to get booked in is $200. Pricing is subject to change unless a retainer is paid.
Can we get sunsets photos?
Yes absolutely, sunset is such a nice time!
Do you travel?
Yes! I'm situated in the Hawkes Bay Region but I absolutely do travel, especially to places like the Manawatu. Get in touch for a quote!
I don't know what to wear — can you help?
Absolutely. I'll send preparation guidance once you've booked, and I'm always happy to help you choose colours that work well together.
We're a busy family — will this feel rushed?
Not at all. Every session runs 45–60 minutes regardless of which collection you choose, so there's always enough time to settle in properly.

CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?
Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome. Just let me know beforehand so we can choose a suitable location and include them in the session.
