Sunrise Engagement Session in Central Hawke’s Bay at Kairakau Beach

A very early start at dawn, and so worth it! Elleisha and Taylor were down in Hawke’s Bay from Auckland, so we made the most of it with a sunrise session at Kairakau Beach. We had the lanterns glowing in the dark, music playing, and slow walks along the sand as the sky came alive with colour. The beach is their favourite place to spend time together, so it felt like the perfect spot. It was so good to catch up with these two ahead of their wedding!

You Don’t Need to Know How to Pose

Elleisha and Taylor hadn’t really had photos done before, and getting comfortable in front of the camera was exactly what they wanted out of this session. That’s the best part of an engagement shoot! You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll guide you the whole way with music, movement and simple prompts, and the real magic happens in the in-between moments when you forget I’m even there. Their goal for the future is to “remember to laugh always,” and there was no shortage of that this morning! A session like this gives you the chance to practise together, pick up a few easy tips, and feel so much more confident walking into your wedding day.
